It is through ordinary activities that human being gets into relations with the world. Those day-to-day activities are not conspicuous, but basic for the human-being. A tiny tale in The Gospel according to St. Luke, Martha and Mary shows us an impressive figure of those activities. Meister Eckhart's exegesis of this tale, of which we treat mainly in this essay, puts forward a noteworthy thought about those activities. He considers them as a manifestation of human perfectness. Martha, not Mary, embodies human perfectness, which has a dynamic double structure. Martha is a woman. This fact gives us another problematique. We deal with it also.

ヒキガエルBufo japonicus卵は紐状に繋がった卵塊として産卵される。卵の周囲は卵膜と4層のゼリー層に覆われている。卵はまず卵膜(vitelline coat)に覆われ、更にJ1、J2という2層のゼリー層により個々の卵が覆われる。更に、各卵は紐状に並び、J3、J4が覆っている(図1A)。卵膜は卵形成時に卵内で合成される糖蛋白質からなる非細胞性の構造で、ヒキガエルの場合、主として8種類の成分で構成されている。一方、ゼリー層は、卵が排卵されたのち、輸卵管を通過する際に付加される親水性の巨大糖タンパク質であり、約70%の糖質と30%のタンパク質からなっている。胚の[figure]図1 A. 産卵されたヒキガエル卵は個々の卵が二層(J1、J2)のゼリー層に包まれ、更にその外側を二層(J3、J4)のゼリー層により紐状に覆われている。B. 最初の孵化は外側のゼリー層からの孵化で、胚は依然、内側の二層のゼリー層と卵膜(図には書き入れてない)で覆われている。孵化はこれらのゼリー層及び卵膜から胚が抜け出ることを意味するが、この過程はヒキガエルでは2段階に分けることが出来る。第1段階は、紐状の卵塊からJ1とJ2、更に卵膜を伴った胚が抜け出る過程で、これは、Stage 20(神経管中期)前後に起こる(図1B)。この過程は胚の呼吸による二酸化炭素の産出の関与や孵化酵素の関与が示唆されている。第2段階は胚がJ1、J2、そして卵膜を抜け出る過程であり、Stage 23(尾芽胚中期)以降に起こる。Yamasaki, et. al.,では、ヒキガエル胚での孵化腺細胞の分化がStage 19以降に起こり、それに伴ってStage 18からStage 22にかけて、8種の卵膜構成糖タンパク質のうちの、62KDと58KD成分が選択的に分解されること、更にこの分解が胚から得た孵化液により起こることなどが明らかになった。両生類の孵化は、ヒキガエル以外にも、エゾアカガエル(Rana pirica)やアフリカツメガエル(Xenopus laevis)で研究されている。特に最近、ツメガエルでは遺伝子工学の手法を用いて、孵化酵素遺伝子の構造解析、胚での局在の様子や、酵素本体の精製などが行われており、両生類における孵化酵素の遺伝子、分子レベルの性質が初めて明確になりつつある。本研究ではヒキガエル胚の孵化に関係している孵化酵素の正体を明確にするため、孵化自体がどの様な阻害剤の影響を受けるのか、また孵化液中に含まれるタンパク質分解酵素の基質特異性を人工基質であるMCA基質を用いて調べた。更に、人工基質を分解する活性の阻害剤感受性を調べることで、ヒキガエル孵化液に基質特異性や阻害剤感受性の異なるタンパク質分解活性が少なくとも2種類存在することを示唆する結果を得たので報告する。この研究の多くは北海道大学理学部動物学教室で行った。また、MCA基質を用いた実験の一部には和歌山県立医科大学進学課程化学教室の蛍光光度計を使わせて戴いた。

On 18 May 1988 in Singapore, the Constitution of Singapore (Amendment) Act and the Parliamentary Elections (Amendment) Act 1988, to ensure the representation in Parliament of members of the Malay and other minority communities, were passed by Paliment. Under the new constitutional provision (Article 39A of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore), the Legislature may make provision for "any constituency to be declared by the President……as a Group Representation Constituency (GRC) to enable any election in that constituency to be held on a basis of a group of 3 candidates". Furthermore, "at least one of the 3 candidates in every group shall be a person belonging to the Malay" or "Indian or other minority communities". The matters I will consider in this paper are as follows. The role and task of the GRC system, which was reinforced in 1991 and 1996, to elect Team MPs or MPs on a group basis in some constituencies, and the essence of the GRC system to entrench the idea of multi-ratialism in the written constitution, in relation to the result of the General Elections of (1988, 1991 and) 1997.

The purpose of this study was to investigate adolescents' attitudes or orientations toward love. Two hundred and thirty nine students under age 25 (96 males and 143 females) responded to the Sentence Completion Test (SCT) which consisted of three questions about what to do in situations of love in conflict. Half of the respondents hope to continue associtating with their best girl/boy friend even though their families and friends are against it. When a person is worrying about being attracted to a lover of his/her good friend, almost two in five would like to advise him/her to confess or disclose what he/she feels. However, about 40 percent of the students do not want to accept the feelings of love which a sweetheart of their close friend expresses to them. Some sex differences were found; for example, male students seem to be more involved in loving than females.
