The author reports the development of the new chemical water treatment technology using the aqueous of stabilization hypochlorous acid. This stabilization solution is prepared by the low environmental loading manufacturing equipment for very precise fluid control using diffusion phenomena. It is prepared from dilute hydrochloric acid and aqueous solution of sodium hypochlorite without the electrolysis. The work environment of the preparation process is very good, since the preparative procedure without using or generation of the chlorine. The prepared aqueous solution is high precise continuously prepared with optionally designated for the available chlorine concentration; 10 ppm < [available Cl] < 200 ppm, and the hydrogen ion exponent (the pH value; 5.0 < pH < 6.8). In addition, the aqueous solution is very long life, and it is possible to storage and/or prevails. This functional water is a solution presenting slightly acidic or neutrality without having the corrosiveness, since the hydrochloric acid is not contained in forming solution. Since it has the powerful oxidizability, this solution manifests very powerful pasteurization effect and deodorizing effect. This aqueous solution is used in order to deal with water supply, intermediate process water, and wastewater. It is widely applied in medicine, food processing, agriculture, livestock industry, fisheries field and so on. In addition, the author also reports applications of this technology for prevention of epidemics countermeasure.

It becomes more important to reduce the noise generated from Shinkansen train for further speed-up of Shinkansen. We developed the high-speed test train "FASTECH360" that has new equipment such as low-noise pantographs, "multi-segment slider", pantograph noise insulation plates and sound-absorbing panels for the noise from the lower area of car bodies. We investigated the noise distribution of "FASTECH360" by using a spiral microphone array, and we have taken countermeasures for the noise sources of "FASTECH360" based on the primary results of high-speed tests. Currently, the results show that the noise level of "FASTECH360" at the speed of 330km/h is approximately equal to that of the present commercial train at the speed of 275km/h (at a distance of 25m from the track).

FT-NIR spectroscopy has the potential to be an index for the degree of the formation of BICs using the changes in the hydrogen bonding or CH stretching vibration in terminal groups between the materials (reagents such as cellulose and cellobiose, botanical wastes from coffee beans and tealeaves) and various processing conditions of BICs. FT-NIR spectroscopy is a grate method for the BICs analysis because it is able to measure the vibrational spectra without destruction and pre-preparation for the spectroscopic measurement. The other reason why NIR is that this spectroscopy is hard to include noises from some contained materials in BICs. In the other hand, NIR spectra need the statistics analysis called “chemometrics” because these spectra show very broad and overlapped band. Changes of these overlapped bands are easier to interpret than MIR regions because MIR region has larger amount of information from many kinds of vibrations. Results of the chemometrics need the careful consideration for the changes between analytical results and intentionally perturbations because sometimes chemometrics results do not have the chemical meaning. Raman and THz spectroscopy are used to understand the actual chemical changes with perturbations by comparing with the results of statistical analysis.
