Indoor environmental condition to control influenza infection has been a matter of concern from a viewpoint of public health. Following Shaman et al.'s work, Harper's data concerning influenza virus survival rate was reanalyzed to find out relationship between humidity and virus survival rate which is presumably correlated with influenza transmission. It was found that the virus survival rates were highly correlated with absolute humidity even for very short and long elapsed time after released to atmospheric air. Influenza virus survival rate was well represented with a single decay curve by taking half-lifetime period as a representative time scale.

Many researches on the effect of foliage plants on indoor air quality have been developed. The objective of this paper is to carry out quantitative investigations on the ability of foliage plants to remove chemical contaminants by experiments for the different initial concentrations of toluene and carbon dioxide. Thirteen different foliage plants, Golden Pothos, Benjamin, Rosemary and so on, cultivated in hydroponics were investigated. The experiments were carried out for each plant put in a desiccator without ventilation. As a result of the experiments, each plant showed the different performance of controlling indoor air quality.

In this report, use and the effect of the BIM construction data in M/E design calculation that we have been actually applying for several years are described. Concretely, it reports on the following items, outline of composition of BIM use system, automation in thermal load calculation, automation in PAL calculation, automation in natural ventilation calculation, use in rough estimate of equipment, and other use.
