Owing to better circumstances for making new Japanese fonts through the computef, the number of Japanese fonts has increased, and also the number of categories into which Japanese fonts are classified has increased. But we have no methods of choosing suitable one according to imagery of them. So we have the research on the image of the shape of Japanese fonts. It is necessary to use suitable fonts for the design works. The results of this research show that the image of Japanese font can be classified with three points. They are Sex, Refinement, Power and Weight. We will be able to add some image keywords (or something) on a catalogue that can be used for choosing Japanese fonts, in the future.
