A minute caenogastropod snail, Amphithalamus (Amphithalamus) fulcira (LASERON, 1956) was recorded for the first time from the tropical to temperate regions of Japanese waters. The shell, radula and external morphology of the soft part were described in detail, and the distribution of the species in the Japanese waters was demonstrated. This is the first record of the family Anabathronidae not only from the Japanese waters, but also from the Northwest Pacific.
