大規模な公共施設において目の不自由な人へのナビゲーションから緊急時の避難誘導にまで役立つことを目的に実装した通信環境について,京都駅ビルを用いてその有効性を検証した.この通信環境は,実空間の歩行者を仮想空間にCG オブジェクトとして写像することで広い範囲を継ぎ目なく俯瞰する機能と,写像されたCG オブジェクトへの直接操作により複数の対象との通信を指示者が切り替える機能を特徴とする.検証は2 つの実験からなる.最初の実験では,1 名の指示者が1 名の歩行者を携帯電話のみで誘導する場合と,位置情報を用いて誘導する場合の結果を比較した.2 つ目の実験では,1 名の指示者が2 名の歩行者を切り替えながら並行して指示を行った.1 つ目の実験参加者間の会話を分析した結果,利用者の位置情報を用いることで,目標地点を明示するためのランドマークが不要となる相対的な指示が可能となり,その結果,ときに冗長ではあるが,場所や人を問わずに理解されやすい指示が実現されることが示された.一方,2 つ目の実験結果からは,複数の通信対象へ並行して指示を行う際,上記の相対的な指示を用いることが,通信対象を切り替えるタイミングに関して指示者の制約を増すことにつながることが明らかになった.We present a study of system evaluation of the location-based remote guidance system in a large-scale public space. It is considered helpful for visitors who are, for example, visually impaired people or evacuees. Two functions characterize the system. One is a bird's-eye view that is represented as 3D-CG, which enables a guide to survey a large space and its visitors seamlessly. The other is a function to switch addressed users in guidance by direct manipulation to CG objects which are displayed as human figures on a touch screen. This paper reports two experiments, the first in which one member of a pair guided the other to some locations using only a mobile phone without information about the location of the guided person vs. with information about the location; the second, a person guided two persons parallely by the special pointing interface which enabled the guide to switch addressed pedestrians. Analysis of the first experiment, drawing on audio/video data shows that the location-based guidance system features easy guidance that rarely depends on space structure and humans. The result of second experiment highlights that the easy guidance described above isn't feasible for switching addressed pedestrians in guidance.
