This article is a pedagogical review regarding the development of Mechanics towards the establishment of Statistical Mechanics of polymers. The polymer is one of the strongly correlated systems, descsibed by field theory as a one dimensional object (string) embedded in three dimensional space. The aim of this article is to describe the spirit of theoretical physics as it relates to soft matters through the history of unification theories of physics. Path integral, integral over trajectory and functional integral are used without precise definitions in this article.
