Wada wrote the "Hougyokushi (寶玉試)" in 1889. It was the first textbook of the gemmology in Japan. 2) The 2nd age: the gemmology was made well known by Takeo Kume (1887-1958) and so on in around 1960. 3) The 3rd (present) age: after the gemmological society of Japan (GSJ) wasinitiated in 1974. It is common knowledge fact that GSJ contributed to the improvement of thegemology in the world.
