A new species of Genus Leydigia, Leydigia louisi nipponica TANAKA et OJIKA n. subsp. was discovered in barrage of Higashi-Sumida race, Anjou, Aichi Prefecture. Female: Body length 0.6〜0.8mm. Body outline widely oval, translucent, yellowish in colour. Ocellus triangular, larger than eye. Antennules almost reaching apex of rostrum. Antennal seatae 0-0-3/1-1-3. Postabdomen with 9〜11 lateral groups of seatae. Posterior margin with marginal row of small spinules on the inner side. This subspecies is different from the other species of Genus Leydigia by bodyline widely oval. Male: Body length about 0.7mm. Ocellus larger than eye. Outer branch of endite of leg I with seatae of slightly different length. Vas deferens opening on apex of penislike process. Alona eximia KISER, 1948 is newly recorded in Japan.
