Anal comb of the Japanese Colias hyale poliographus Motsch, was described. The comb is transverse and consists of thirteen teeth. The tooth is elongate and obtuse at the apex; basal half fused with each other but free apically; every third tooth has a small process on a side which is fused at the base. The length of the teeth is subequal excepting those at each side of the comb which are shorter than terest. This is somewhat allied to the anal comb of C. philodice eurytheme Bdvl. from N. America, which was illustrated by Peterson, However, detailed comparison is impossible on account of his sketch being too rough.
