Johannes Brahms(1833-1897)は自作の交響曲、ピアノ協奏曲、声楽を含むオーケストラ作品、セレナーデ、序曲、ほとんどの室内楽作品をピアノ・デュオの編成にアレンジして残している。また、同時代の他の作曲家も次々とブラームスの作品を編曲し、彼の作品は当時、様々な編成で世に広まっていった。ここでは19世紀の編曲のあり方、作曲家と出版社の関係、ブラームスの作品がどのように市民に享受されたかを考えたい。Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) arranged most of his orchestral- and chamber music for piano duo. Many contemporaries of Brahms also arranged his works in various instrumental combination. The common practice in 19th century realized, that more people would have opportunity to play and know his music. In this report, I study arrangements not by Brahms, about arrangers who worked with piano music of Brahms, and how the publishers dealt with works of Brahms.
