本論では,エジプトを中心とするアラブ世界やイラン,トルコにおいて,新聞や雑誌といったプリント・メディアがどのような歴史的経緯のもとに普及・発達していったのか,ヨーロッパとの国際関係,支配者の政治社会政策,知識人の文化活動などに着目しつつ明らかにする.This paper aims to reconsider a historical and theoretical process of development of the print media in the Arab world, Iran and Turkey, with special reference to their international relationships with the West and the governors' social politics and the intellectuals' cultural activities from the latter half of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century.
