In view of the importance of the global increase in atmospheric CO₂ for climatic change, extensive studies have been made on the concentration of atmospheric CO₂. In this paper, the results obtained from these studies are summarized together with those of our own measurements. Methods for measurement of the atmospheric CO₂ concentration by infrared absorption techniques are also described.
