社会科学に新しいパラダイムを提示した研究として名高いホーソン研究は,幾度もなく厳しい批判にさらされてきている。興味深い点は,これらの諸批判が,大学の入門教科書では,ほとんど取り上げられていないという点である。本研究は,ホーソン研究の諸批判に焦点を絞る。そして,その意義や貢献だけではなく,諸批判も同時に教えることが,学生たちのマネジメントに対する多様なアプローチにつながる可能性を明らかにする。Hawthorn Studies are very famous for having suggested a new paradigm in social sciences. However, there is another story; many scholars have criticized that the studies are full of methodological problems and lack scientific evidences supporting the popular interpretation of the results. It is very surprising that the criticism has rarely been mentioned in introductory textbooks of I-O Psychology and Organizational Behavior. This study focuses on the criticism for Hawthorn Studies, especially in terms of methodological problems and the interpretation of research results. I argue that teaching the criticism help students learn much more balanced perspectives to management.
