本稿は、2004年11月から2005年2月まで実施された長崎県対馬市「まちなみ景観建造物等調査事業」、すなわち旧対馬藩城下町に所在する歴史的建造物を対象とする市民協働の調査と、その対象の一つである「半井桃水生家跡」の保存問題について分析することを通じて、現在の日韓国境、対馬における景観・文化資源の在り方について考察する。厳原町市街地に分布する近世~近現代の歴史的建造物について分布調査および個別遺構の調査を行った結果、全体で436地点の遺跡分布が明らかとなり、11件の遺跡について個別調査を実施した。その一つ、「半井桃水生家跡」は、明治・大正時代に活躍した対馬出身の文学者、半井桃水(1860-1926)の生家跡に推定されていたが、2005年に解体されたことは、現代のまちなみ景観と遺跡保存の問題を示す象徴的な出来事である。本稿で論じた景観まちづくりと遺跡保存の密接な連携の必要性は、国際的にもますます大きくなっており、対馬はその重要な役割を果たすことが期待される。This paper examines current issues on the close relationship between townscapes and conservation of the historic sites in Tsushima Island on the border between Korea and Japan. This will be based on the Research Project on the Buildings of Townscape in Tsushima City, Nagasaki Prefecture with civic collaboration from November 2004 to February 2005. This also analyses conservation problems on the historic site of Tosui NAKARAI's birthplace [半井桃水生家跡]. This Research Project was carried out by both the general survey and intensive research, thus, they have revealed distribution of the 436 historic sites and 11 detailed features around Izuhara-town as the central area of Tsushima now and the former capital of the Tsushima clan, during the Edo period [1603-1868]. One of these sites has been believed as the birthplace of Tosui NAKARAI [半井桃水 1860-1926], a famous novelist during the Meiji and Taisho eras born in Tsushima. Athis site was demolished that building in 2005 and it was a symbolic event to indicate the contemporary issues. As necessity of the close relationship between the townscapes and conservation of the historic sites has increased in the world context as well, Tsushima will be expected to play such an important role today.
