It is difficult to clarify the history of Irish manuscripts during the end of the seventh century and the eighth century. Because we have few remains of that manuscripts and yet that can carry so easily that we can not decide its sources. It is generally said that combination of Celtic elements and Germanic elements in ornamental style is Hiberno-Saxon style. One of its typical appearances is "Book of Durrow" and "Lindisfarne Gospels". We have intended to search this Hiberno-Saxon style concretely. As one of its ways we observed development of Irish ornamental motives of metal works, sculptures and so on.
