Spectral sensitivity of CCD color filters is one of the most important factors that determine essential image quality of an electronic camera. such as color reproduction and noise. Therefore, it is highly important to appropriately evaluate and optimize the CCD color filter characteristics. This paper introduces a new method for two-dimensional visualization of a tradeoff between color and noise properties. It was proved that newly-developed 4-color-CCD camera has advantages against conventional filter sets.Also, an extended-gamut color space is essential to accurately store colors that are out of sRGB-gamut, and sYCC color space was used here. The sYCC color space was compared with other extended-gamut color spaces, such as Adobe/RGB, with evaluation of the media gamut cover ratio and the quantization level interval.
