琉球大学附属図書館では,ILLの支払いに利用するため2010年11月よりカウンターに電子マネーEdyのキャッシュレス決済端末を導入し,2021年11月には機器を入れ替える形でマルチ型キャッシュレス決済端末を導入した。現金収納による課題等を解決することを目的とした導入の経緯,機器選定におけるポイント,機器操作の流れ,導入5か月経過後の実績等について事例として報告する。

ハワイ大学では,2008年に沖縄研究機関として"Center for Okinawan Studies"が設置され,教員とライブラリアンとの協力のもと,沖縄資料のコレクション形成等が行われている。本稿では,マノア校内の2つの図書館,ライブラリアンへのインタビューによる北米のASSやNCCにおける活動について紹介する他,海外機関における沖縄研究の動向,教員とライブラリアン連携の内容や方針について知ることで,今後の沖縄研究を行う琉球大学の図書館として行うべき事業や海外機関との協力についてまとめた。The University of Hawaii established the Center for Okinawan Studies in 2008. Through the cooperation of its faculty and librarians, the center is developing a research collection of Okinawan materials. This paper reports on two libraries on the Manoa campus and interviews with two librarians to learn about their activities with the Association for Asian Studies (AAS) and the North American Coordinating Council on Japanese Library Resources (NCC), the direction of Okinawan studies overseas, and issues relating to faculty-librarian collaboration. As a result, the author has compiled information on the types of operations that University of the Ryukyus Library should undertake to support Okinawan studies and how best to collaborate with overseas institutions.
