本論文では、青森市津軽方言の推量形式の一つである「ビョン」が意味変化を経験したと思われることを報告し、その変化の仕組みを考察する。田附(2008)によると「ビョン」は「ベ」と「オン」に由来する。「ビョン」はかつては町の女性が用いる上品なことばであった。しかし、現在は町や村、男女を問わず用いられ、断定的で押し付けがましく響くこともある。この変化を、「ビョン」の起源の一つと考えられる「オン」の変化によるものと考える。すなわち、「オン」はもともと女性語であり、断定を避け語調を和らげる働きをもっていたが、しだいに、意味の一部がパースペクティヴ化(Perspectivization)を受けた結果、むしろ断定的で一方的な伝達の形式に変化したと考えられる。In Tsugaru Japanese, byoN is used as one of the forms of epistemic modality. The form byoN is said to have originated from the combination of be, which is used in large areas from the Kanto region to the Tohoku region, and on, which is attached to the end of sentences. In this paper, it is made clear that byoN went through some semantic change. That is, though byoN was once a polite epistemic modal that women in urban areas used, it no longer implies politeness, and has a slightly different meaning. In addition, it is now widely used in many areas and by both men and women. In order to explain the mechanism of this change, I applied to the particle on the notion of Perspectivization (Dirven 1982), concluding that the change in on may have affected byoN.論文 Articles
