ネットワークで接続されたパーソナルコンピュータと比較的安価な入力機器を用いて遠隔地間でゼミを行う遠隔ゼミ支援システムRemoteWadamanを開発した.本システムは知的生産支援システムWadamanにグループウェア機能を付加し,新たに開発した画像・音声用コミュニケーションツールNetGearと併用したものである.本システムを用いて鹿児島大学(鹿児島市)と東北大学電気通信研究所(仙台市)間で遠隔ゼミを2回行った.その結果,従来のゼミと比較してもRemoteWadamanを用いた遠隔ゼミは大筋では遜色ないが,同時に使用できる計算機の台数が実用的には4台と少ないために,ゼミ特有のインタラクティブな部分が不十分であることがわかった.We have developed a remote seminar support system named RemoteWadaman. RemoteWadaman was implemented on a network, consisting of four personal computers and cheep input equipments. RemoteWadaman is based on an intelligent productive work card support system, named Wadaman, and a multimedia communication tool, named NetGear. We tried remote seminar between Kagosima University and Tohoku University twice. The results of trial was that RemoteWadaman was sufficiently effective for a remote seminar, but, insufficient about interaction between participants.
