本稿は、ひとつの図書館用音楽コンテンツ配信サービスの事例を取りあげ、デジタル・アーカイブやデジタル・ライブラリーが人文学の研究の発展に寄与するために具えるべき情報検索インターフェイスと、それが依存するメタデータ構造について論じる。音楽コンテンツ配信サービスが学術データベースとして有効に機能するために設計した諸機能について、その設計思想を含めて抽象化して記述するという方法をとる。キーとなる発想は、資料の物理的形態に引きずられた設計を抜け出し、利用者の潜在的要求を満たす方法を考え直すことにある。This is a case study of a digital music distribution service for libraries to investigate into requirements for the information retrieval interface and metadata structure of digital archives and digital libraries to support the researches activities in humanities. The fundamental idea described here is that the interface should not be designed after physical forms of the content items.

放送局の保有するラジオ番組の録音には,音楽史を知るための貴重な資料が含まれているにも関わらず,わが国ではそのほとんどが一般には公開されていない.本稿は,NHK アーカイブスの放送音源の一部をデジタル配信および高品位 CD で提供する,NHK エンタープライズとナクソスの共同事業を紹介する.そのなかで,人気ではなく資料価値を重視した場合のデジタル配信の優位性を明らかにし,また実演家の許諾取得に伴う法的および 「道義的」 課題とを論じる.Each broadcasting station has broadcast archives, which contain audio recordings that may be valuable materials for research in music history. Nevertheless, in our country, most of such archives are not available to the third party people. This paper introduces the joint projects of NHK Enterprises and Naxos for distributing a part of NHK radio broadcast archive digitally and physically. We will focus on the advantage of digital distribution as a means for spreading valuable but less popular materials, and legal and moral issues concerning rights handling.
