Recently SAR images have been widely adopted for the monitoring of ground surface deformation. InSAR (interferometry SAR) becomes a powerful tool to clarify geological structures and tectonic motions cause of large earthquakes. The InSAR analysis which is centimeters order precision and used two images is convenient to make a quick report for the surface deformation after large earthquakes. On the other hand, PSInSAR technique which uses 20 SAR images or more over realizes millimetric precision in a wide area with a high-density. Especially, it enables to detect the historical deformation of the surface according to used images term. This paper discusses the geological structure and the mechanism of surface deformation for the Noto Hanto Earthquake in 2007 and Mid Niigata prefecture Earthquake in 2004.
