Thelephoric acid was obtained from the fruitbodies of four species of Hydnum (H. aspratum BERK., H. graveolens FR., H. imbricatum (L.) Fr. and H. scabrosum FR.) and newly found from the fruit-bodies of two other genera, Polystictus and Cantharellus (Polystictus versicolor (L.) FR. and Cantharellus multiplex UNDERW.).
