When using robots to investigate a disaster site after an earthquake, the act of carrying robots into the workplace is dangerous for the rescuer and may result in a second accident. If robots can be thrown into the workplace, operators will be safe and the job made easier. We have been researching and developing our legged robots "QRoSS" series, which are transformable robots with a spherical outer shell to absorb the external shock of landing. The purpose of this study is the development of QRoSS III, which can get over obstacles by jumping. It performs two takeoff postures and two static gaits using three legs and its shell. This paper reports concepts and the design of QRoSS III and discusses experimental results: takeoff postures, gait locomotion and a series of the jumping motions.

昭和48年9月,琉球大学保健学部に歯科口腔外科が開設されて以来15年間の,沖縄地方における口唇裂口蓋裂の一次形成手術患者472名について臨床統計的観察を行った.<BR>1.性別では男性264名,女性208名で,その比は,1.3:1であった.<BR>2.初診時年齢では1歳未満の患者が382名(80.9%)と最も多かった.一方,4歳以上の患者が39名(8.3%)みられた.<BR>3.裂型別分類では,唇(顎)裂139名(29.4%),唇(顎)口蓋裂218名(46 .2%),口蓋裂115名(24.4%)であった.<BR>4.口唇裂を伴った357名の片側性と両側性の頻度では,片側性263名,両側性94名で,その比は2.8:1と片側性が多かった.左右差は左側173名,右側90名で,その比はx.9:1と左側が多かった.<BR>5.出生時体重では,2500g以下の低体重児が12.4%みられた.<BR>6.出産時における母親の年齢では25歳-29歳が171名(36 .7%)と最も多かったが,40歳以上が14名(3.0%)みられた.<BR>7.他の先天異常の合併では,先天性心疾患が23名(5.0%)と多くみられた.<BR>8.妊娠初期における母親の状態では疾病罹患および薬剤服用が多かった.<BR>9. 455家系中多発家系は123家系であり,家系発現率は27,0%であった.

Penile self-mutilation is rare. We report our experience with 3 cases of penile self-amputation. One case was in a 48-year-old man who had no background history of mental disorders. He amputated his penis using a utility knife. He was referred to our hospital and underwent suture of the wound, but he took his own life one week after the surgery. Another case was in a 42-year-old man who had intelligence impairment. He amputated his penis using a kitchen knife. The other case was in a 41-year-old man who had schizophrenia. He amputated his penis using a piece of broken glass.
