Steene(1990)によって、華麗な写真に収められたバリ島のガラテアは、インド太平洋に広く分布するLauriea gardineri(Laurie, 1926)とは、体色が明らかに異なるほか、形態にも明瞭な相遠が見られ、新種L.siagianiとして記載された。これによって、従来単型属として知られたLauriea属に、第二の種を追加することになった。

This is the second part of the report on the galatheidean Crustacea taken by the R/V Soyo-Maru in the deeper parts of the Japanese waters. The collection of the Galatheidae comprises 9 species, two of which are new and five of which are recorded for the first time from the Japanese waters. The reader is referred to the introduction of the previous article (BABA, 1981) for the source of material and the brief notes on the distribution of the Japanese deep-sea Galatheidae as well as the Chirostylidae. I thank Dr. T. OKUTANI and Dr. M. TAKEDA of the National Science Museum, Tokyo, for making this collection available to me; Dr. F. A. CHACE, Jr. of the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.
