This essay aims to reveal the history of the sports business and suburban development operated by Hanshin railway and two newspaper companies, The Osaka Asahi and The Osaka Mainichi, in the early 20th century. These two sectors of the new industries developed rapidly as cultural industry by stimulating people's desire on the suburban life and leisure activity.
