This paper sheds light on the local exchange programs by mosques in Japan. Currently, 150,000 Muslims live in Japan, and they have built about 100 mosques in the country. Some of the mosques have started programs for promoting friendship with local Japanese, and Nejima and Hattrori visited four mosques for interview: Masjid Otsuka, Masjid Gifu, Masjid Nagoya, and Tokyo Camii. They invite neighbors for Eid (Islamic festivals), tea party, and cultural programs such as Arabic calligraphy. These efforts should be highly appreciated for creating multicultural society in Japan.
