A method for the design of the Font of KATAKANA (a group of Japanese letters) for the line printer is discussed in this paper. The essential of the method is using a formal characteristic of the letter which is defined by the formula. The characters which were amended from those in the Fig. 4 by the method are shown in the Fig. 6.
