筆者の所属する京都女子大学現代社会学部では,学生は入学すると同時にノートブック型パーソナルコンピュータ(ノートPC)の 所持を義務づけられる.しかし1年次にはノートPCを積極的に利用する授業科目が開講されておらず,大部分の学生がノートPCをほとんど大学には持って来ず,また自宅でもあまり利用せずに1年間を過ごしてしまう.筆者は昨年度後期において,1年次配当の科目を担当することになり,そこで受講生に毎日ノートPCを大学へ持参するよう指示した.そして約半年間にわたってノートPCの利用状況(利用時間や利用目的)を調査した.調査は記名式のアンケート形式で行なわれた.本稿はその調査について結果を報告するとともに,調査結果について分析・考察を行なうものである.The newly registerd students of the faculty to which the author belongs are required to possess a notebook PC. But any class which utilizes notebook PC positively is opened in 1st grade, so most of the students do not bring a notebook PC to the university and utilize it rarely at home for the 1st school year. The author had an opportunity to take charge of the subject at 2nd semester of 1st grade. He instructed the participants to carry a notebook PC to the university everyday. And he investigated the utilization status of notebook PC (how long and to what to utilize it) over approximately half year. The investigation was a questionnaire survey with open ballots. The author analyzed and considered the results of the investigation and this paper reports the findings from it.
