日本語教育のためのデータベースCASTEL/Jに収録されている新書の文章を素材として、上級の日本語学習者のための読解教材「読書支援システム「新書ライブラリー」」をコンピュータを利用して開発した。本研究ではこの読書素材力田本語教材としてどのような性格を持つか、学習項目として抽出できる言語要素は何かを明らかにするために、文章に含まれる機能表現の調査を試みた。使用頻度の高い表現33項目を抽出し、また異なった文章の間における表現の使用状況の違いを考察した。この調査の結果を別の角度から検討し、中・上級の日本語教育の学習項目を考えるうえで有用な情報を提供しうることを示した。We have developed a reading support system called "SHISHO library" for advanced Japanese language students. This system, consisting of eight sections, was created using the Computer Assisted System for Teaching and Learning Japanese (CASTEL/J). In this article we report on a survey of expressions used in the "SHINSHO library". The frequency of expressions and their usage in the eight sections are measured and discussed. The results from this study provide useful information about the learning items relevant to the intermediate and advanced Japanese education levels.
