One of the influences of printing, invented in the middle of the 15th century, is the modernization of the book. In the history of printing, the most significant change was the appearance of the title-page which made clear who was responsible for writing the book and brought about the right of authorship. The appearance of the title-page and its process development in the latter half of the 15th century are studied through examination of the incunabula of the Newberry Library.
