In this paper, which is a part of my projected monograph on a philosophy of human person, I have attempted to clarify the essence of human person, namely that which makes the human person precisely "person." In this consideration of the "person-ness" of human person, I have tried, above all, to unify the seemingly contradictory aspects of "person-ness, " namely the subsisting individuality and the relatedness or the capacity of communication. The ontological consideration of human person which I have pursued in this paper, presupposes and requires a radical change in our way of ontological thinking. I propose to call this change "the personalist turn" in ontology.
