論説(article)本稿は、原爆投下問題をめぐる、日本における歴史論争に一石を投じる論争的な論文である。いわゆる「対ソ原爆外交説」が、アメリカにおける著作の単なる引き写しでしかないことを具体的に示し、この問題に日本の研究者として、いかに取り組むべきかを示唆している。This essay is a controversial, even polemical, study intended to challenge the dominantview among Japanese historians and the media concerning the so-called "Atomic Diplomacy" thesis. It exposes that Japanese writings on the subject are merely copies of "revisionist" works in the United States and suggests directions in which Japanese historians should pursue their future studies.
