ロラン・バルトが「作者の死」で指摘しているように、マラルメは純粋な作品というものが詩人の消滅を含意していると述べている。マラルメのみならずボードレールにも見られるこの「作者の消滅」は、彼らがポーの詩論を受け継ぐことによって生じたものである。西洋で広まっていくこの制作方法は、象徴主義やレディ・メイド、シュルレアリスム、アクション・ペインティングなどに受け継がれる。だが同時にそれは「芸術終焉」の重要な要因なのかもしれない。As Roland Barths pointed out in his "La mort de l'auteur", Mallarmé reports that the pure work implies the disappearance of the poet. The disappearance of the author that can be seen not only in Mallarmé but also in Baudelaire arised from their adoptions of Poe's theory of poetry. This production method that became popular in Europe was adopted in Symbolism, Ready-made, Surrealism, action painting and so on. But it may be the important factor of "the end of art".
