This study examined predictors of Japanese students' attitudes toward seeking counseling. Participants were 149 undergraduate and graduate students(42 males and 107 females)with a mean age of 20.5 years. They answered the measures of attitudes toward emotional experiences, perception of stigma of seeking counseling, distress, and attitudes toward seeking counseling. Results of simultaneous multiple regression analyses indicated that perception of stigma and discomfort with emotions were significant predictors of more reluctance to seek counseling.
