Last-instar larvae of the bamboo zygaenid, <I>Balataea huneralis</I> were collected in Kyoto city in early December, 1984 and reared under 16- and 12-hour photoperiodic conditions of 20&deg;C. Results of the experiments strongly suggested that this zygaenid passes the winer in diapausing prepupae in Kyoto city.
