Impulsiveness and self-control are considered as a personality and behavioral traits. The BIS-11(Patton et al., 1995), a measure of impulsiveness and the RSS(Sugiwaka, 1995), a measure of self-control, are the most common and well-known scales. Precedence research on these measures showed no gender differences. In an attempt to design the revised version for the Japanese people of BIS-11 by Kobashi & Ida(2011), gender differences were not considered. Hence this study, the researchers investigated the gender differences of impulsiveness using the Japanese version of BIS-11. We would like to incorporate the gender differences of self-control using RSS as well as this topic. 305 participants(117 males and 188 females)replied to these measures. The result showed no significant gender differences. In other words, with these two scales no gender differences were apparent.

How we believe that intelligence is? Can intelligence be changed by effort? Is intelligence determined by nature? Wehave a belief that intelligence varies from person to person. Dweck defines such a belief as Implicit Theories of Intelligence(ITI). There are two theories in ITI. Those are incremental theory and entity theory. Incremental theory is a beliefthat I can change my intelligence. Entity theory is a belief that my intelligence can’t control by myself. Many pastresearches treat ITI as one factor. But recent researches treat ITI as two factors. Purposes of this study is to verify forreliability and validity about a two-factor Implicit Theories of Intelligence scale. Hierarchical factor analysis showed thatITI are stabled by one factor or two factors. But two-factor model is better than one factor model, because all two factormodel’s paths are significant. And correlational analysis showed that different patterns of convergent validity. Theseresults mean that incremental theory and entity theory has different quality. Results of two analysis means that two-factorimplicit theories of intelligence scale is better than past one factor scale.
