There has been great improvement in various disaster prevention countermeasures and their researches. However, most of the countermeasures that have been implemented are classified as "kojo" which are implemented by public sectors (in Japanese). Therefore, it is considered that the importance of both "jijo" (countermeasures implemented by the individual) and "kyojo" (countermeasures implemented by mutual assistance) is increasing, because in actual fact many people survive in times of disaster by mutual assistance or self support. In this paper, the authors propose a system that facilitates disaster situation information transmission by users in the facilities such as university campuses, in order to address these prevention issues. PlaceEngine is implemented for this system to allow users to estimate the current location easily by utilizing Wi-Fi devices.

In recent years, the volume of Japanese Bonsai exports has increased because of the "Bonsai boom" in foreign countries. Bonsai is one of Japan's cultural traditions, and there are several high-grade Bonsai brands in Japan. Though, Japanese bonsai have spread globally and become well known by their Japanese nomenclature. More recently, Bonsai culture has begun to lay down roots in many countries. However, the ancient bonsai culture and industry today in Japan is at a crossroads due to various problems. Most notably, there are problems such as the aging of bonsai growers, a lack of successors, and a sluggish domestic demand. In this paper, the authors investigate the Bonsai boom abroad and the domestic problems within the bonsai industry, concluding by proposing two bonsai distribution processes for the purpose of promoting of Japan bonsai worldwide.
