A public recording of NHK educational TV “SciEnCer” which is a popular scientific entertainment program in Japan was held in school of engineering, Hokkaido University on January 22, 2013. Here, on-the-job training for students by the collaboration of NHK and Hokkaido University was carried out. The production technique of the TV program is suggestive for science communication education. In this report, we consider the opportunity of on-the-job training like this from a viewpoint of science communication.
