In efforts to establish the broadcasting standard in Japan, the transmission protocol and the engineering guideline based on the MUSE system has been studied and agreed to by "the Telecommunications and Technology Council of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications" and "the Broadcasting Technology Association (BTA)". This paper describes the transmission protocol as well as the bandwidth compression technology in the MUSE system. (for tutorial)

「シルクロード」の番組制作は, ネガフィルム取材を直接ビデオ化し, これをビデオ編集する, 一般とは異なった方法で行っている.中国との共同取材であったことにも起因するが, 昨今のビデオロケ傾向に対して, フィルムロケの利点を生かしつつ, フィルム画質改善を図った.制作過程の中で, ビデオ編集, ステレオ効果音制作など, ポストプロダクションの新しい技術発掘にもチャレンジを行った番組制作である.
