本研究の目的は、 東京女子師範学校附属幼稚園開設時に日本人初の保母となった豊田芙雄 (1845-1941) が歌詞を作成した保育唱歌 「六球」 について、 豊田自筆の6種類の文書の分析を通して、 従来の保育唱歌研究の中でその存在が謎に包まれていた 「六球」 の唱歌がどのようにして作られたのか、 その一端を明らかにすることにある。 文書の分析の結果、 9曲からなる 「六球」 の唱歌は、 最初の 1曲が作られ、 それに続けて赤色から間色までの 8曲がほぼ同時に作成されていたことがわかった。 特に、 赤色・黄色・青色の 3曲については、 何度も歌詞の推敲がおこなわれていたことが明らかになった。

The aim of this study is to examine the creative process of Hoiku Shoka from the perspective of the Reijin, members of the Gagaku Department of the Court Ministry, who were engaged in its composition. The study was conducted by analyzing autographed manuscripts written by Fuyu Toyoda, a teacher at the Tokyo Women's Normal School Kindergarten who worked as a translator and lyric writer during the early Hoiku Shoka period. Originally, Hoiku Shoka began as a collection of educational songs for kindergarten instruction. It then started being used for various purposes, such as for Tokyo Women's Normal School students or unspecified audiences at concerts. The study reveals that the music composition quality underwent changes under the circumstances.
