E.E.カミングスの詩"anyone lived in a pretty how town"については,言語学者もさまざまな分析を試みている。本論文では,それらの研究の特徴を3つに分類しその概要を述べた後,ローマン・ヤコブソンらによって提唱された構造主義詩学の方法が文芸批評と言語学的分析を繁ぐ方法として有効であることを,実際に当該の詩を分析することによって示す。Various linguistic approaches have been proposed to e.e.cummings's"anyone lived in a pretty how town."They are roughly classified into three types,grammatical,lexical and structural,the barest outlines of which we shall first give and then insist that the method of structuralist poetics by Jakobsonian linguists can possibly be a connection between literary criticism and linguistic analyses of this poem.
