On July 23, 1987, a very hot day, the largest wide-area power outage occurred in Kanto-Area, Japan. The cause was a voltage collapse on the bulk power network of Tokyo Electric Power Company, due to the abnormal rate of demand rising following resume after lunch break. Aggressive studies on voltage collapse throughout industry and university have led to great advances in power system stability. This essay describes the detail record of the outage, the applied countermeasures, and the inside story when the multiple voltage solutions of power flow on actual power system were found out for the first time.

In 128 patients diagnosed cervical spondylosis except myelopathy tyep during 1971.All patients were given the treatment of cervical traction. 61 patients were investigated, male 24 patients, female 37 patients.The results were obtained as followed.1) 18 patients were excellent results, 22 patients were good.2) In 17 patients out of excellent and good results, we found that the symptoms relieved in two weeks after cervical traction.3) In excellent patients, there were effective for shoulder pain, neck pain and sensory disterbance of fingers.4) On the other hand, 21 patients were noted for no effect of cervical traction, and out of these 21 patients, 12 patients were no change on the symptoms, in 2 patients the symptoms had progressive worse.5) It was noted that there was no relationships on the effection and cervical X-ray findings.6) Out of excellent and good results, 93% of the cases were improved during three months by the treatment of cervical traction.

A comparative study was conducted on the 20 knees of 10 females with normal knee joints (age, 22-35 years) and on 7 knees of 7 patients with subluxation syndrome (age, 15-24 years), using axial radiography and CT. In axial radiography where the angle of knee flexion was 30° or 60°, no significant difference was recognized between the two groups with respect to tilting angle, patellofemoral angle, congruence angle and lateral shift. However, a significant difference was found using CT. Thus, CT was considered useful for diagnosis. Because of these results, all 7 cases underwent surgery for detachment of the lateral side and tightening of the medial side. Three cases underwent shifting of the tibial tuberosity to the anteromedial side, resulting in a favourable outcome. Here, we report the study.

Ten dialysis patients with evidence of R. O. D. were studied on X-ray, chemical finding and bone histology.<br>AL-P, P. T. H. increased in most patients with evidence of R. O. D. but estradiol decreased. In bone histology, four cases were osteitis fibrosa, four sclerotic type and one mixed type. Patients with evidence of osteitis fibrosa was younger than those with other type. It is suggested that the development of R. O. D. is correlated with secondary hyperparathyroidism and other endocrine function.
