Among linear motor-driven railways, on-board primary linear induction motor-driven railways (steel wheel supported system and levitated system by conducting magnets) have been putting to practical use. This paper refers to electric field strength and magnetic field strength radiated about by these systems. The results are as follows:(1) Directly reached radio noise radiated by the linear motor car has the 1_??_2 MHz frequency region at most.(2) Radio noise by the linear motor car is similar to that by the VVVF inverter controlled car.(3) Magnetic field strength inside the linear motor car is the largest upon the reactor, but is not larger than the ordinary car.(4) In the inspection pit, just under the linear motor magnetic field strength is larger, but decreases to safety level at some distances due to the large attennuation. With the above-mentioned founding, the conclusion are as follows.(i) Peak envelope detection is the refining method in care of the measurement of electric field strength radiated by electric railways.(ii) It is necessary to establish the united standards on the magnetic field strength inside the electric railway cars.(iii) The characteristics of electromagnetic field are of little difference between the linear motor cars and the ordinary motor cars.

The authors had proposed the revolving permanent magnet type magnetic wheel called the “magnet wheel”, which have both functions of induction repulsive type magnetic levitation and thrust. In this paper, the relation between magnetic poles and lift force or thrust characteristics is examined to grasp the performance. Five types of magnet wheels are discussed in the experimental study and four more types are used in the theoretical study with the three-dimensional numerical analysis. The following parameters are considered, they are magnetomotive force (mmf) of permanent magnet, thickness of magnet in magnetizing direction and the total volume of magnets, fundamental factor and distortion factor of the space mmf distribution of poles, pole pitch, diameter of magnet wheel, mechanical clearance, thickness and resistivity of conducting plate, etc. The result cleared the following. 1. The lift force per magnet volume is nearly proportional to the fundamental factor of space mmf distribution of pole. The low degree space harmonic mmf is effective to increase lift force. 2. The driving power per lift force is almost independent of configuration of the primary member including pole arrangement and position against the secondary conducting plate respectively, and only depends on the resistance of conducting plate. 3. In both the “partial overlap type” and “tilt type” magnet wheels, many number of poles with the sufficiently large pole pitch is useful. In the tilt type the use with a small tilt angle is desirable.

We have already announced the design method of the passive attenuator to prevent a high voltage which induced at a crane hook of a large crane used near a medium wave radio broadcasting antenna. But it is very difficult fundamentally to microminiaturize this passive attenuator.In this time, we developed an active attenuator that possible to miniaturize where a negative resistor or a fourterminal amplifier is included. From the result analyzing this crane equipped with an active attenuator theoretically, we show the design method of the active attenuator. In this paper, first the equivalent circuit of the crane equipped with the active attenuator as a receiving antenna is induced. And we show that the attenuated characteristics of the active attenuator by the model experiment accords with the theoretical attenuated characteristics which employ an equivalent circuit under the same condition.

It is difficult to assess how transient stability of trunk transmission power systems may be affected by a system fault under the conditions created by the widespread use of renewable energy (RE) because it may greatly differ depending on power system conditions such as the operation statuses of generators and RE, and also on whether or not any RE is tripped after the fault, for example. Then we developed photovoltaics (PV) generation model for transient stability analysis and defined a scenario for the widespread use of RE in order to perform an analysis using this power system model. We confirmed that this made it easy to identify the impacts on transient stability and their causes even when different power system conditions contribute in a complex manner.
