The authors revised Assertion Inventory (Murayama et al.,1989). The new version consists of Restriction Scale and Assertion-Aggression Scale. Restriction Scale, which has 30 items, measures the degree of restriction in assertive behaviors. Assertion-Aggression Scale has 35 items. It is for the measurement of the manner of assertive behaviors. Low Assertion?Aggression scores indicate the aggressive manner. The new inventory was administered to 498 people (ages 15-30 years). They were divided into 4 groups; normals, delinquents, neurotics, and psychotics. The mean Restriction scores of neurotics and psychotics were higher than those of normals and delinquents. The mean Assertion-Aggression scores of neurotics and psychotics were lower than those of normals and deliquents.
