We created an experimental keeper for fixation to the abutment screw in order to apply a dental magnetic attachment to an implant superstructure. The retentive force of a commercial and the experimental keeper was measured according to the test method of ISO 13017. From the obtained data, we evaluated the possibility of applying a magnetic attachment to the superstructure. The retentive force of both the commercial and experimental keeper was 85% or more than the value stated in the literature accompanying the package. Therefore, magnetic attachments are applicable to dental implant superstructures.
