Every student of the Maritime Technology Department gets qualified as a Third Grade Marine Technincal Officer when they graduate. But this qualification is not regarded as sufficient to operate a large ship. Some of the students try State Examination for Marine Technical Officers for Fisrt Grade or Second Grade. But some of those fail. The reason many of them say is that English is too difficult, or that they don't have enough time to make good answers. Examinees can use dictionaries in the examination. Because of this, students cannot understand the necessity to memorize both general words and technical terms. As a result they spend too much time consulting dictionaries. A list of words for the State examination for Second Grade Maritime Officer (Navigation) and (Engineering) would help them very much. One of the list is shown in this article.
