Mitake Soji is a travel description written by Ueda Akinari more than 30 years after his journey. I've attempted to explain the time and space covered in this work, but found the time and space somewhat confused. The reason seems to be that the moment and place of his writing appear in his work as something different from the theme of travel. The characteristics of Ueda Akinari as a wri-ter also appear in the confusion itself.

国学とは歌文の表現をめぐるなにごとかであった、という視点から真淵以後の国学と歌文の流れを俯瞰しようと試みた。真淵国学は、中世以来の雅(古典規範)を相対化することによって、十八世紀後半に多種多様な歌文を生み出す契機となった。そしてその延長において、雅という規範や美意識は意義を失い、近代の始まりを招来した。それはまた同時に、歌文の創作と学問との乖離をも決定的にした。
