A new species of Bathyceradocus, one of the maerid amphipods, is described based on the specimens collected from sunken wood on the bottom of the Kumano-nada, central Japan. Bathyceradocus japonicus sp. nov. can be distinguished from its congeners by the number of the accessory spines on the pleonite 1, the number of articles on the accessory flagellum, and the strongly oblique palm of the gnathopod 2 with the dentate margin. A brief note on the behavior of the new species and a key to species of the genus are provided.

Two distinctive species of Amphipoda are described from the Ariake Sea in Japan. Scutischyrocerus japonicus sp. nov. (Family Ischyroceridae) is characterized by the cylindrical shape and the shield-like coxae 2–5. This new species differs from S. scutatus Myers, 1995 in the uropods with peduncles bearing many plumose setae. In the second species, Ledoyerella clavata (Hirayama, 1984) comb. nov. (Family Kamakidae), the lateral cephalic lobe is strongly produced, and the gnathopods 1, 2 of both sexes are the same size, with the propodus being almost as long as the carpus. This species can be distinguished from its congeners by the heavily setose posterior margins of pereopods 6, 7 bases. Ledoyerella spinosa Ren, 2006 is synonymized with this species.

Two new species of the aorid Amphipoda are described from Chichijima Island, the Ogasawara Islands in Japan. Aoroides macrops sp. nov. from shallow water is characterized by the heavily setose male gnathopod 1, the coxa of which bears several plumose setae anteriorly, and the uropod 2 with a short inter-ramal process. This species is very similar to A. longimerus Ren and Zheng, 1996; however, this new species can be distinguished from A. longimerus by the larger eyes, the shorter carpus of the male gnathopod 1, and the shorter carpi of the pereopods 3 and 4. Grandidierella ogasawarensis sp. nov. from river mouth has the male gnathopod 1 with two teeth on the carpus and an anterodistal projection on the propodus, the male gnathopod 2 with an elongate carpus, and the uropod 1 bearing an inter-ramal process. This new species is different from its closely related congeners (G. koa Barnard, 1977; G. insulae Myers, 1981; and G. rubroantennata Ariyama and Taru, 2017) in the separated teeth on the carpus of the male gnathopod 1.

Two species of the paracalliopiid Amphipoda are recorded from the Ryukyu Archipelago in Japan, one of which is Mucrocalliope ryukyuensis sp. nov., the second species of the genus. This new species is very similar to the type species, M. shimantoensis Ariyama and Azuma, 2011 from the Shimanto estuary, western Japan; however, M. ryukyuensis can be distinguished from M. shimantoensis by the longer peduncular article 4 of the male antenna 2 and the basis of the male pereopod 5 with a posteromedial plumose seta. The other species is Paracalliope dichotomus Morino, 1991; its morphology in female and the coloration are firstly described.

Three species of Grandidierella (Crustacea: Amphipoda: Aoridae) were collected from coastal areas of the Tohoku and Kanto-Tokai Districts, East Japan. The first species is G. sanrikuensis sp. nov. from Miyagi Prefecture, which is characterized by the male gnathopod 1 with carpus bearing 3 teeth (only middle tooth large). The second species is G. rubroantennata sp. nov. from Chiba Prefecture. This new species is identical with G. insulae sensu Ariyama (1996), but is different from the true G. insulae Myers, 1981 in the more flagellar articles of the antennae. The last species is G. osakaensis Ariyama, 1996, from river mouths in Kanagawa and Shizuoka Prefectures and an anchialine pool in Izu Oshima Island, Tokyo Prefecture. This species can inhabit various sandy mud bottoms in a brackish environment. Including G. japonica Stephensen, 1938, four Grandidierella species occur in the districts.

Four species of the family Dulichiidae (Crustacea: Amphipoda) are described from Japan. The first species is Dulichia biarticulata Hirayama and Takeuchi, 1993, which is characterized by the 2-articulate accessory flagellum and the expanded basis of the pereopod 4. The occurrence of this species from Miyagi–Osaka Prefectures and Fukui Prefecture is the first record from localities other than the type locality, and the morphological characters of the female are also described for the first time. The second species, Dulichia latimana sp. nov., was collected from the Ariake Sea and Sagami Bay. In this species, the male has a robust gnathopod 2 with a short proximal projection on the propodus and the slightly expanded basis of the pereopod 4. The third species is Dulichiopsis barnardi Laubitz, 1977 from off Fukushima Prefecture, which has the eyes composed of many dispersed ommatidia, the propodi of the pereopods 5–7 with a palm and the uropod 2 outer ramus about half length of the inner ramus. The morphological characters of the male are firstly described. The last species is Metadulichia kohtsukai gen. nov., sp. nov. from Sagami Bay. This species can be distinguished by the small maxilla 1 with 7 terminal robust setae on the outer plate, the maxilla 2 inner plate bearing single mediofacial seta, and the extremely short outer ramus of the uropod 2. A key to Japanese species of the family is provided.

A new species of the euphausiid-ectoparasitic isopod in the genus Heterophryxus Sars, 1885 is described based on an immature female specimen collected from the central North Pacific. The new species, Heterophryxus pacificus, can be distinguished from the immature females of H. appendiculatus Sars, 1885 and H. elongatus Schultz, 1977 in having (1) a wider and thicker body, (2) a cephalon without an anterior hollow, and (3) complex-shaped pereomeres 2 to 4. A diagnosis of the genus Heterophryxus is provided.
