東京農業大学農学部バイオセラピー学科2年次前期開講科目である生物統計学において,学生の考え方の傾向を知ると同時に講義の質向上の一助となることを目的として2010年,2011年および2012年の初回講義時に自己評価に関するアンケートを実施した。自己を5段階で評価する設問において,「文章表現力」,「理論的な考え方」,「話し方の能力」,「行動力」,「社交性」,「危険なもの・ことを回避する能力」に関しては大学入学当初に比べアンケート実施時の値が有意に上昇したが,Temperament and Character Inventory(TCI)モデルを参考にした遺伝的傾向が強いとされる気質成分である Novelty seeking(行動促進)を「好奇心旺盛」と表現した質問に関して,有意な差は見られなかった。2年目の調査を実施した2011年4月は東日本大震災の1か月後であり,直近1か月を漢字1文字で表現した自由記述の設問に関して,回答には少なからず震災の経験が影響していることがうかがえた。また,生活に関する質問において,主成分分析により得られた第3主成分得点には年度による差が認められ,年度を追うごとに回答者が力を入れている活動項目の中心が学業やサークルといった学内で行われることに変化していることが判明した。Questionnaire surveys for self-evaluation were conducted every April in the years 2010, 2011 and 2012 with college students majoring in the faculty of agriculture during the first class of the course `Biostatistics' which is provided every spring semester for sophomores. The purpose of this study is to understand the students' thinking process in evaluating themselves and to find better ways to improve the quality of the course. On a 5-point scale self-evaluation, the average scores for the ability of `writing', `conversation', `vitality', `cooperativeness', `harm avoidance' (all terms translated into Japanese) were significantly higher at the point of survey than the time of the students' enrollment in the university. The score for `curious' referring to `novelty seeking', which is influenced by heritage, according to Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI), demonstrated no difference. The second survey, in 2011, was conducted about a month after the Great East Japan Earthquake. Compared with 2010 and 2012 some answers, obtained from the question of `Phrase the entire recent month with a single KANJI', were influenced by the experience of the quake. Furthermore, based on principle component analysis, there was significant correlation between the year in which each survey was conducted and important matters in the students' daily activities: shifting from an extramural to an on-campus focus year by year.
